RE. Disaffiliation

Dear Members of the APU,

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication throughout what has been an exceptional five years as an IPF affiliate in Australia.

Today, after careful consideration, The APU has made the following decision;

The APU has decided to conclude its affiliation with the international Powerlifting Federation (IPF), effective as of 31 December 2023.

While bidding farewell to the international stage, we are resolute in our commitment to nurturing the growth of powerlifting at the national level.  The APU will persist in organising and overseeing local, state, and national events, albeit without registering teams for participation in the international powerlifting federation championships, commonwealth championships, or Asian powerlifting championships.

For members seeking to terminate their APU membership, a pro-rata refund will be processed, calculated based on the remaining full months from the cancellation data. to illustrate:

(Membership amount paid / 12 months) x (full months remaining).

We acknowledge the aspirations of our athletes, and for those wishing to engage in IPF events, we encourage direct contact with the International Powerlifting Federation.

We express our deepest appreciation for the remarkable journey we've shared, and we look forward to continuing to support your strength pursuits within the national arena.
