Dear All,
It has been brought to our attention that a social media post by an international level athlete, which goes against the vision and values of our sport, in particular, the use of drugs.
Drugs are not only physically harmful and also potentially lethal to individuals who take them, they have a negative impact on families, and they often cause an increase in crime and violence in the community. Performance-enhancing drugs are banned in sport, and many are illegal to possess. Some recreational drugs are performance enhancing, and most are banned in sport.
If an athlete promotes banned substances in any way, it would be very likely seen as bringing the sport into disrepute.
The IPF Anti-Doping Rules apply to APU, Athletes, Athlete Support Personnel and other Persons, each of whom are deemed, as a condition of their membership, or participation in APU or IPF events to have agreed to be bound by the Anti-Doping Rules. “The IPF is committed to protecting the health of our athletes and maintaining the integrity of our sport.” IPF Anti-Doping Rules - International Powerlifting Federation IPF
Drugs will never have a place in APU.
Please think before you post on your own social media.
